LangerChen was founded as a sustainable fashion label. From the very beginning, we have been committed to an environmentally friendly collection. Transforming the industry is very important to us.

The careful use of our planet's resources and the smallest possible ecological footprint are very important to us. The fashion industry, with its entire value chain, is one of the dirtiest industries for our planet. Conventional fiber production, from the fiber to the finished garment, uses many chemicals such as artificial fertilizers, pesticides, dyes, and textile additives, which inevitably leave residues in the environment. Sustainability is the most important criterion in every decision we make.

The origin and extraction of our eco-friendly raw materials are fundamental to our products. Eco-friendly production is ensured by transaction certificates for the ecological standard.

Our creative research and development team develops its own yarns and fabrics from:
– Organic wool
– GOTS certified cotton
– GOTS certified linen
– Lyocell (Tencel®) from sustainable forestry
Our German office is near Munich, while our Chinese team works on our collections near Shanghai.

Synthetics
If we have to use synthetics, we rely on:
– Recycled polyester
– Recycled nylon
– Bio-based nylon
When it comes to hydrophobic finishes, we take care not to use perfluorinated carbon compounds. In addition to plant wax, we use products such as Bionic Finish®-Eco and Zelan™ R3 .
In addition to using sustainable materials, we also pay attention to our carbon footprint. We select the means of transport for our goods based on the lowest CO2 emissions. Parcel shipping within Europe is CO2-neutral (through offsetting).
To avoid unnecessary plastic waste, we don't package our jackets and coats in individual boxes as is customary in the trade. Our sophisticated warehousing in our factory allows us to reduce the plastic film to one outer packaging per delivered carton. This allows us to eliminate up to 90% of plastic packaging.
