LangerChen was founded as a sustainable fashion label. We have been committed to an eco-friendly collection from the very beginning. A change in the industry is very close to our hearts.

Careful use of our planet's resources and the smallest possible ecological footprint are very important to us. The fashion industry presents itself as one of the 'dirtiest' industries for our planet with its entire value chain. In the conventional production of fibers to the finished garment, many chemicals such as artificial fertilizers, pesticides, dyes and textile auxiliaries are used, from which residues inevitably remain in the environment. Sustainability is the most important criterion in every decision we make.

The origin and extraction of our eco raw materials are fundamental to our products. For quality assurance, our researches take us to the spinning mills and as far as the cotton and linen fields of Xinjiang province. The ecological production is ensured by transaction certificates for the ecological standard.

Our creative Research and Development team develops own yarns and fabrics from

  • GOTS certified organic cotton,
  • GOTS certified organic linen
  • Lyocell(Tencel®) from sustainable forestry.

When we have to use synthetics, we rely on recycling, on

  • recycled polyester
  • Recycled nylon.

For hydrophobic finishes, we take care not to use perfluorinated carbon compounds. In addition to vegetable wax, we use products such as Bionic Finish® Eco and Zelan™ R3.

In addition to sustainable materials, we also pay attention to the carbon footprint. The means of transport of our goods are selected according to the lowest CO2 emissions. The parcel shipping in Europe is CO2 neutral ( through compensation).

To avoid unnecessary plastic waste, we do not pack our jackets and coats in individual packaging as is customary . An elaborate warehousing in our manufactory makes it possible to reduce the plastic films to one outer packaging per delivered carton. This allows us to save up to 90% of plastic packaging.
